One language spoken worldwide is a dream of everyone who spends hours learning new English vocabulary.
On one hand it seems obvious that the same language all over the world would lead not only to better understanding in business but also in everyday life.
My best friend is from Hungary and always complains that it takes me at least half an hour to get used to speaking in English when we talk via Skype. He is studying in London, so does not experience any problems in that language, because he speaks English all the time. I need more time to change my way of thinking from Polish into English one.
What is more, translation is often incorrect or not very sophisticated, which is visible when you watch a movie with subtitles.
When we want to check whether one common language is useful in business we should consider two sides of the coin. Firstly, you have no doubts when clinching a deal using the same language. The common language let avoid such surprises as misunderstanding. On the other hand, when you make a business whit a German for example and he doesnt speak your language and you dont speak his one, then because or thanks to misunderstanding you can achieve better conditions.
In my mind one language worldwide would make both life and business easier under condition that you are trustworthy and dont want to exploit your future partner. Even if sometimes it is funny, when you cannot communicate with other people without using your hand and other parts of the body to show what you want to say it is depressing when you cannot express yourself the way you would do in your own language.
